Oedipus and The Mama’s Boys are an 8 piece post-punk band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Consisting of two guitars, bass, drums, synthesizer, violin, saxophone and trumpet.
Formed originally as a much smaller project in 2024 by frontman Charlie, Oedipus and The Mama's Boys have evolved into an ensemble whose sound incorporates post-punk, noise-rock, grunge, new-wave, and much more. With key influences being IDLES, Squid, Gilla Band and Black Country, New Road.
In 2025, the bad released their debut single, titled 'Bleed', which gained the attention of many in the Scottish music scene with the help of a Glasgow debut at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut which was highly acclaimed. From then onwards, Oedipus and The Mama's Boys have had the opportunity to open for some of the best up and coming bands in the UK alternative scene. These include 'Legss', 'Bones Ate Arfa', 'Hotel Lux', 'Fuzz Lightyear' and Faroese band 'Joe and The Shitboys'.
In January 2026, the band released their second single, 'Stretched/Kitchens'. This song has made quite the impact, with 5 star reviews from Northern Exposure Magazine and Discovery Music Scotland.
Oedipus and The Mama's Boys is made up of Charlie (lead vocals/guitar), Gemima (vocals/bass), Cammy (vocals/guitar), Nye (saxophone), Hannah (srumpet), Kellin (drums), Alex (violin) and Scott (synthesizer)
